This is an exciting opportunity to join East Devon District Council’s Economic Development team at a time of ambition and change. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Economy Projects Officer to help deliver high-quality business and economic development activity across the district. You will play a key role in delivering business and start-up support, leading on marketing and communications for the team, and providing analytical, administrative and project support to ensure the service remains responsive and ready for new opportunities.
Working closely with the Economic Development Manager and colleagues across the Governance and Place directorates, you will help implement the Council’s Economic Development Strategy 2024–29, supporting clean, inclusive and sustainable growth across East Devon.
About you
You will bring experience of working on economy or business-support related projects, ideally within a public sector or partnership environment. You will be organised, proactive and confident working across multiple priorities, with strong communication and project management skills.
You will also have:
§ A relevant degree, or professional/vocational qualification, or demonstration of working at this level
§ Experience of delivering or supporting business support or economic development projects
§ Ability to analyse and present economic or performance data clearly
§ Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
§ Experience of marketing and communications, including social media and digital channels
§ Ability to present and communicate complex and challenging information concisely to a wide audience
§ The confidence to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues, partners and local businesses
