The Opportunity
Senior Consultants provide the backbone of our business. The role involves:
- Planning, prioritising and being accountable for project work plans, organising and
controlling multiple responsibilities and resources to achieve project objectives. - Working with a team of Associate Directors and Directors to develop and deliver
robust research and analysis to clients. - Collaborating with and supporting more junior consultants to maintain our quality standards and timeliness of delivery.
- Undertaking primary, secondary and mixed methods research, making use of qualitative and quantitative data, including interviews, focus groups, workshops and desk-based research.
- Generating analysis and intelligent insights to help inform clients’ decision-making.
- Communicating ideas, options and recommendations clearly and concisely using high quality outputs (reports, presentations etc) that impress our clients and help them make better informed decisions.
- Cultivating warm and long-term client relationships to help us promote our offer.
- Contributing to work winning and business development of our growing offer to clients.
- Helping develop new tools and ways of working that make the most of new technologies and techniques which help us better respond to evolving client needs.
We are looking for people who are curious and analytical with attention to detail and
quality and who thrive working in a fast-paced environment.
Senior Consultants typically have approximately 4-8 years’ experience in economic
development consulting, public policy research or in a public sector role with a focus
on data, analysis and strategy.
Requirements
Person Specification
We are particularly interested in candidates who can support the continued growth of
our place / land and property offer including:
- Producing socio-economic baselines to understand the strengths, opportunities
and challenges presented by places. - Preparing economic strategies that support places to fulfil their potential.
- Developing socio-economic ES and health chapters, Health Impact Assessments,
Equality Impact Assessments, Employment and Skills Plans and Social and
Community Infrastructure Assessments to support developments to progress
through the planning system. - Evaluating the effectiveness of projects and programmes with a place-based focus.
- Assessing the impacts to be unlocked by developments and making the case for
investment in regeneration initiatives.
